Land stewardship is a long-standing tradition in the American West. Learning from the near extinction of the American Bison, ranchers and landowners have since adapted their land management to function as part of the prairie and plains ecosystem. For example, through careful and conscious grazing, cattle can actually promote and sustain soil health in much the same way the massive buffalo herds once did. There are many serious conservationists who spend their days working the land to protect its health and bounty for generations to come.
