Fins Attached Marine Research and Conservation
Dr. Antoniou began his shark conservation path in 1994 as the Director of Field Operations for the Shark Research Institute based in Princeton New Jersey. He is currently working as theCEO for Fins Attached, which he founded in 2010. His passion for shark research and conservation spans over 25 years. Alex’s greatest achievement was the 2017 acquisition of a134-foot, long range research expedition vessel, to expand the mission of Fins Attached. The vessel was christened “Sharkwater,” in honor of the work started by the late Rob Stewart, producer of the Sharkwater documentary. Sharkwater is host to many different professions within the field. Scientists, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), marine science students, and documentary crews conduct fieldwork and achieve the objectives of Fins Attached. Alex was awarded the 2017 “Shark Guardian of the Year” award from the Shark Project of Germany. An international award that is voted on by researchers and organizations from around the world.
The equation is simple, Save Sharks + Save our Oceans = Save Life.
