Marathon Swimmer, author, speaker and an architect
Ben Lecomte is a marathon swimmer, author, speaker and an architect. In 1998, Ben became the first person to swim the Atlantic Ocean without a kickboard. Come 2018, Ben was the first person to attempt to swim from Tokyo to San Francisco, “The Longest Swim”. After successfully swimming 1500NM and 165 days at sea, the swim was called off due to storm damage of the accompanying sailboat. A documentary, The Swim, features his attempt. In 2019, in an 80-day long expedition, “The Vortex Swim”, Ben swam over 330NM in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and established a world record. He uses his expeditions as a platform to collect valuable scientific data and bring attention to ocean conservation. Ben made it his passion to become a voice of the ocean for his children and future generations.
