Annual Black Friday “Get Outdoors” Paddle: Trinity Park

November 29, 2019 , 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Annual Black Friday "Get Outdoors" Paddle: Trinity Park EarthxStories

Escape the hustle and bustle of Black Friday by joining us on the water for our annual Black Friday Escape paddle. This year we will launch at Trinity Park–but with a twist–or a spash. For those who want to add a little spice, we will unload boats at the Trinity Park Launch on Trinity Park Drive, then take our vehicles further down the park to 2500 River Drive to park them near the Double Drop and Tilley foot bridge (the same location we use for the Full Moon Paddles).

We can then run the three white water chutes that are a part of the Trinity White Water Park (don’t worry, they are beginner friendly except when the water is running high and I will verify that the day before). We will land, go get our lunches out of vehicles parked nearby, then paddle on down to Panther Island beach where we will have lunch, then paddle back to Double Drop to take out.

Those who want to join but do not want to run the chutes can meet us at Double Drop instead of doing the whole run. If you have your own boat, the event is free (tip for the guide is nice).

If you need a boat and gear they are $40 per person from Adventures Unlimited Paddling. You must pre-pay and reserve in advance as there are a limited number of rentals available (limited by trailer space). Use the link: https://www.adventuresunlimitedpaddling.com/shop/trinity-river-tours
Bring shoes and clothes appropriate for the weather that can get wet, (No Cotton!) Bring a change of clothes and a towel (in case you get too wet.) Bring water, a sack lunch that can fit in your boat, sunscreen, and hat. PFD required if you are bringing your own boat.
