Episode 6: The Fiber of the Future
Wednesday, June 30 | 7:00 PM CDT – 7:30 PM CDT (8:00 PM EDT – 8:30 PM EDT)
Duration: 30 min
Program Description: This series highlights manufacturers of furniture, textiles, and other materials who are demonstrating circular, regenerative, and sustainable practices. Designers have a major responsibility to make healthy choices and educate consumers about which materials and products are harmful to the environment. These industry pioneers seek to replace the end-of-life concept with restoration, shift toward renewable energy, eliminate the use of toxic chemicals, and importantly, aim to eliminate waste.
Episode Description: Thanks to Libeco’s artisanal farming and processing techniques, their transparency about their methods, the multiple certifications they have earned as a testament to their efforts, and carbon-neutral processes, Libeco has proven itself as a successful pillar of the circular furnishings community. We hope that Libeco continues to lead the way so other fiber and textile companies can follow in their footsteps and embrace more sustainable, circular, and regenerative practices in their own companies.
