$295
Join your Dallas Zoo colleagues as we venture back into the Big Thicket National Preserve, January 18-20 (MLK weekend) for longleaf pine planting with the National Park Service.
We have an exciting line-up of programs and guided-hikes focused on the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker and beautiful Big Thicket. Enjoy a guided float on a pontoon boat through the bayous and sloughs of the Neches River. Learn about this unique ecosystem, home to carnivorous plants, more than 200 tree species, 47 mammals species, 300 bird species, and many reptiles and amphibians. It’s going to be an amazing weekend and a great way to start the new year.
This expedition is for ages 6 and up. Registration includes all programs, planting longleaf pine seedlings, guided hikes, boat tour, and Saturday lunch and dinner (breakfasts included with room). Transportation and lodging are not included.
