A Norwegian company called Powerhouse designed the world’s northernmost energy-positive building. Completed in 2019, Powerhouse Brattørkaia will reportedly generate more energy than it used during its lifetime, including that used during its construction and demolition. The building uses solar panels, geothermal wells, and heat recovery systems to reportedly generate approximately 485k kilowatt hours annually.
