Johan Rockström, a renowned Swedish professor, has co-authored a new paper arguing for a nature-positive goal by 2030. Nature positivity is a target goal to restore nature and its biodiversity.

Just as net-zero helps us create a balance between the emissions we put in the atmosphere and the ones we take out, nature positivity would require us to create a balance between the nature we destroy and restore.

Biodiversity loss is one of the nine planetary boundaries that humans have pushed beyond their safe limits, as explained in Johan’s Netflix documentary ‘Breaking Boundaries.’ But according to his latest research, biodiversity can be restored and have a full recovery by 2050.
