A university study in Japan found that two different species of sea slugs can not only survive detaching their head from the rest of their body, but also can regrow a whole new body with a new set of vital organs.
Researchers found that the slug’s head could move on its own after decapitation and that it could regenerate a new body and organs—including a brand new heart—within 3 weeks.
