Planting the Seeds of Environmental Change.
EarthX was proud to support the Great Seed Bomb of the Native Prairies Association of Texas established by the Dallas Parks Foundation.
The Great Seed Bomb was a series of free wildflower seed ball workshops with a spectacular seed ball throw finale. Participants learned how to source materials and manufacture seed balls by hand or with a tumbler.
The Great Seed Bomb was a great opportunity to get acquainted with Dallas’ urban farm and conservation leaders and to be a part of creating a sustainable living art installation. EarthX had the opportunity to highlight their initiatives and collaborate on the shared belief in the power of local action to solve global problems.
The Great Seed Bomb organizers also donated over $3300 to the Native Prairies Association of Texas to save Paul Mathews Prairie, a rare 100-acre blackland remnant located in Hunt County, north of DFW. The donation will play a vital role in not only permanently preserving Paul Mathews Prairie, but also in creating a North Central Texas ecological network.
