Rick Perry, U.S. Secretary of Energy Attending 2017 Earth Day Texas April 21

 

(Dallas, TX) – Rick Perry, U.S. Secretary of Energy will be attending the 2017 Earth Day Texas (EDTx) Expo and Conference on Friday, April 21. Earth Day Texas has created the world’s largest annual forum for sharing the latest initiatives, discoveries, research, innovations, policies and corporate practices that are reshaping the future.

Founded in 2011 by Dallas-based environmentalist, philanthropist and businessman Trammell S. Crow, EDTx promotes environmental awareness by curating an atmosphere for conscious business and community-driven sustainable solutions. Earth Day Texas will be held in Dallas at Fair Park on April 21-23. 150,000 attendees are expected to participate this year.

Secretary Perry’s EDTx schedule of appearances for Friday, April 21st include:

8:00-9:00 am E-Capital Summit: The summit is co-produced by Earth Day Texas, PRIME Coalition and Austin Technology Incubator. The E-Capital Summit brings together foundations, family offices, philanthropists, incubators, national laboratories, and cutting-edge clean technology companies to form new relationships and partnerships to accelerate our future economy. The event will be held in the executive suite at the Cotton Bowl.

9:10-9:30 am Responsible Shale Energy Conference: This conference is jointly sponsored by the Mitchell Foundation, Earth Day Texas and produced by C.L.E.A.R. Academic scientists, industry advocates, conservation groups, and technology developers will educate and collaborate to develop novel solutions and safer practices for shale energy extraction.

9:30-10:30 am Tour of Earth Day Texas: Trammell Crow, Founder of Earth Day Texas will lead the tour of the exhibits located in the Automobile Building and Centennial Hall. Exhibitors include Toyota Connected, Shell, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, National Wildlife Federation, National Audubon Society, Conservation International and many more. Secretary Perry will have remarks. Press is welcome to take the tour, availability at 10:15 am.

11:30 am -12:30 pm Earth Day Texas Legal Symposium and Business Luncheon: Sponsored by Domtar Corporation, BSNF, Mary Kay and Fox Rothschild LLP, the symposium includes a series of discussions of environmental thought leaders with diverse perspectives on relevant legal issues reconciling environmental protection and economic development, as well as issues of interest in today’s political climate. Secretary Perry will be the featured speaker at the luncheon for business and legal leaders that will be held at The Texas Discovery Gardens at Fair Park.
