PowerHouse Texas

PowerHouse Texas envisions a world where Texas leads as the powerhouse of next-generation energy. To achieve this, PowerHouse Texas convenes and cultivates leaders to ensure Texans have affordable,
abundant energy. They have five flagship programs that enable the education and cultivation of policy leaders at the Capitol, including the Energy Policy Fellowship, the Energy Policy Advisory Council, the Energy Academy, the Texas Energy Tour, and Energy Innovation Forums.
As PowerHouse works to build a reliable, modern grid, these initiatives provide real-world knowledge to help Legislators and staff better understand our state’s energy ecosystem. Through nonpartisan, diverse, and data-driven perspectives, we take a broad view of the state’s energy ecosystem to share how Texas can power a grid that’s more reliable and meets the needs of a 21st-century economy. As a part of the PowerHouse core values, they are focused on state-level policies that support advanced, sustainable generation technologies and work to provide real-world knowledge for Legislators and staff to better understand our state’s energy ecosystem.
In the wake of Winter Storm Uri, PowerHouse Texas emerged to aid our policy leaders and safeguard Texans from future disasters. They work to bridge science-policy knowledge gaps and educate legislators in Texas’
critical energy and environmental issues. From grid outages to growing power demand, Texans deserve proactive solutions, and legislators need responsive resources to build those solutions. What started as a
small effort to inform policymakers on Texas’s energy ecosystem has grown into a dual organizational model with our sister organization, the Texas Energy & Climate Caucus, which powers leadership development
and policy engagement through education. To learn more about PowerHouse programs and initiatives, visit www.powerhousetexas.org.
