EarthX understands our event has an impact on the environment and local community. Working with our partners and attendees, our goal is to lessen this impact and create lasting positive change.
Waste Reduction & Diversion
Waste is a major contributor to the impact of any event. At Earthx, we focus on first reducing the waste produced overall, and then strive to divert these materials from the landfill through recycling, composting, donations, and repurposing. In 2019, we are working closely with our Dallas partners to sort and divert the waste produced by the event. Visit the Recycling and Waste Expo Area to learn more. Also, be sure to say Hi to our Recycling Rangers at one of the Resource Recovery Stations located throughout the park.
E-Recycling & Paper Shredding
Renewed Solutions is excited to partner with Earthx2019 to provide free valet recycling services for Electronic items and Document Shredding. We will be accepting materials on Saturday and Sunday at Fair Park (time and gate TBA). Click HERE for a list of acceptable materials for recycling.
Clothing & Shoe Recycling
Did you know clothing and shoes are 100% recyclable, but nearly 85% still end up the landfill? We are partnering with Simple Recycling to collect and recycle clothing, textiles, and shoes at EarthX. Bring your bagged donations on Saturday at Sunday to Fair Park (time and gate TBD). Click HERE to learn more.
EarthX is demonstrating its commitment to preserving an intact and livable environment. We are working to be a carbon neutral event by partnering with CO2 Logic to calculate the baseline of our carbon impact and Carbonfund.org for our carbon offsets.
EarthX also encourages attendees to purchase carbon offsets through Carbonfund.org or use alternative transportation. Ditch the car and get to Fair Park through one of many alternative transportation options!
EarthX is happy to partner with Living Earth to provide mulch to Great Seed Bomb Party and other outdoor activations. Operating 25 compost manufacturing facilities in Texas, and six facilities in Tennessee, Living Earth® recycles and composts more than 700,000 tons of brush, leaves, grass clippings, unsold produce and yard trimmings each year. Living Earth® transforms these locally diverted materials into earth-friendly mulches, organic compost, and planting mixes that help regenerate our planet.
What Can You Do?
As an attendee of Earthx, there are actions you can take to reduce your impact as well.
Help us achieve our sustainability goal by committing to the following:
Carpool or take public transportation to/from Fair Park.
Look before you throw and use the correct recycling and compost bins. Ask our Recycling Rangers how!
Visit our Waste and Recycling area to learn about recycling and home composting.
Bring your old electronics and documents to be recycled shred responsibly.
Bring your old clothing, textiles, and shoes to be recycled. It is okay if they have holes and stains.
